Check out the 80 Level article I wrote about the creation of this scene here: https://80.lv/articles/creating-a-winter-cabin-in-zbrush-substance-ue4/
This is a scene that started out as an experiment in how to make snow materials in Substance Designer and Unreal. As I worked with the snow I wanted to make a scene with it and felt like making a cosy cabin in a remote place. I also wanted to use my photogrammetry scanned tree trunks as a full tree and make some snow covered branches. I sculpted the snow cover on the branches in Zbrush and made about 6 unique branches that are placed on the tree trunks. I also played around with shaders in Unreal and made an Aurora Borealis shader that are 3 panning noises with different speed and emissive colors applied to big wavy planes in the sky. I made all the assets and materials in the scene except for the tiling woodboard texture on the door and floor that I grabbed from Megascans. Rendered in UE4.
Aurora Borealis, you can find a breakdown of it in a separate post.
The snow shader on top of the rocks. I add the snow in 2 passes, both as a thick layer that uses tesselation and as a thinner more powdery layer that blends with the rocks normal map.
