This is a mini breakdown of how I made the Aurora Borealis shader in my Winter Cabin scene.
Step 1: Noise textures. Trying out different shapes will have a big impact on the overall look of the final Aurora Borealis in Unreal.
Step 2: Creating one or several meshes to apply the shader on.
Step 3: The Aurora Borealis master shader.
Final step: Placing out meshes in the sky and applying different material instances of the aurora shader.
